All that cycling can injure ligaments and cause overuse injuries. I strongly recommend a program of stretching and yoga to help align your body, strengthen your core, and prevent overuse injuries. The best program for this purpose, in my opinion, is found in a slim book entitled “The Egoscue Method of Health Through Motion” by Pete Egoscue.
You will have to invest significant time and energy learning the exercises while sprawled in your living room floor. Don’t consider the learning process complete until you have all the exercises MEMORIZED in their correct order without referring to the book.
It takes about 30 minutes for me to complete these exercises. I do them daily using my yoga mat during my lunch break. I have been doing these exercises daily for the past ten years. Without these exercises, I would NEVER be able to ride six to eight hours a day pain free and without overuse injuries!
